You are Not Alone

About Us

The incidence of chronic kidney disease continues to increase in the USA with nearly 15% of the population being affected. When the disease reaches a point where the kidneys no longer function at a level to sustain life, this is called End stage renal disease (ESRD) also known as Kidney failure. There are two ways to treat kidney failure - dialysis or kidney transplant.

In order to be approved for a kidney transplant, the patient must adhere to their treatment of dialysis prior to the transplant. Dialysis requires major life changes for the patient and the quality of life can be greatly impacted if these changes are not managed well. Those changes include dietary, employment, and emotional - in addition to medical changes.

We exist to help the patients navigate those changes better and live a better life while on dialysis. We provide non-medical support in the form of material goods (hand sanitizer, dry skin lotion, pill containers, blankets, activity books) along with information on diet, the disease, treatments and a quarterly newsletter that includes advances in treatments and other relevant information.

Because we provide these services at no charge to the patients, we rely on fundraisers, donations and grants. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity and qualify for matching employee grants as well as being tax-deductible according to USA tax laws.

Please consider supporting our mission by visiting our DONATING or volunteering. We are always looking for people to help with fundraisers, serve on our Board, and create awareness of who we are and what we do. CONTACT US if you would like to help.

NEW MENTAL WELLNESS PROGRAM

Our biggest focus this year is to roll out a mental wellness program specifically for Dialysis Patients. One of the most often cited unmet needs by dialysis patients is mental wellness support. We aim to help meet that need. In order to succeed, we need your help. We have 2 dialysis clinics willing to participate in a pilot program. We have an outline of what will work for our audience. We need specialists in the field of mental wellness - mindfulness coaches, happiness psychologists, mental wellness counselors - as well as funding to deliver our program. We are also in need of help to build out the curriculum to best meet the needs of our clients and the best delivery mechanism. We have the basics and want to work in partnership with professionals to deliver it.

If this is of interest to you and you would like to be a part of this really important initiative, please contact us with your information and area of expertise/interest. Thank you in advance.

Additionally, if you work for a corporation that matches your charitable donations, we are an approved public charity in Benevity and eligible for matching grants as well as volunteer opportunities.
